Paris Jackson Addresses Recent Reconciliation with Colman Domingo Over Michael Jackson Biopic
Paris Jackson is offering a fresh perspective on her relationship with actor Colman Domingo following a brief public dispute regarding Michael, the highly anticipated biopic centered on her father’s life. After a few months of tension, the singer-songwriter has confirmed that the air has been cleared.
During a recent appearance at Vanity Fair’s “A Night for Young Hollywood” celebration, Jackson spoke with Entertainment Tonight about Domingo’s recent outreach. The actor had revealed he reached out privately to resolve a misunderstanding that surfaced last year. “I truly valued the gesture,” Jackson remarked. “Miscommunications are common, and things frequently get taken out of context.”
The friction originated last September when reports suggested Domingo told People that Paris and her brother, Prince Jackson, had been actively “helpful” during the film’s production. Jackson swiftly countered those claims on social media, clarifying that she had virtually no involvement in the project. At the time, she noted that while she had reviewed an early script draft and provided feedback on certain inaccuracies, her notes were not implemented, leading her to distance herself from the production.
In a recent profile with the Wall Street Journal, the Euphoria star explained that he messaged Jackson to clarify that his comments had been misinterpreted by the press. He expressed a sincere hope that she would eventually find beauty in the tribute the crew has crafted for the late King of Pop.
Scheduled for a theatrical debut on April 24, Michael stars Jaafar Jackson—Michael’s nephew—in the leading role. Paris confirmed she has stayed in touch with Domingo, who portrays the family patriarch, Joe Jackson. She expressed her support for the project, stating she is “wishing him and my cousin success, joy, and happiness,” while hoping the film ultimately projects “love and light.”
Beyond the cinematic buzz, Jackson is celebrating significant milestones in her music career and personal life. Her latest single, “zombies in love,” co-written by the legendary Linda Perry, was released this March via Republic Records. The track touches on her past struggles and her journey toward the six years of sobriety she celebrated this January. On the personal front, the artist recently shared her excitement over her engagement to producer Justin Long, describing their time together as an “indescribable whirlwind.”
