Reveal trailers are humorous issues. Sometimes, they flawlessly showcase the brilliance of the game in query. Sometimes they present you completely nothing. And typically, they finish with a crimson-tinted smog effigy of Hitler laughing at you from the skyline. The reveal trailer for Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a type of ones. Have a butcher’s under (I’m so sorry, that Watch Dogs game has damaged my mind.)
If that properly animated however information-free teaser wasn’t sufficient for you, right here’s a nine-minute gameplay video. Within its distinctly video-ish confines, Rebellion exhibit some nifty new instruments and character development, as effectively their ‘signature slow-motion bullet-cam’ made well-known within the Sniper Elite sequence.
We by no means truly reviewed the earlier Zombie Army titles right here at RPS, though Alec did assume Sniper Elite 4 was a ‘solid stealth-action core with some lovely level design’. I’m stunned how a lot this one has my consideration although. If the state of affairs itself displayed right here appears a bit rote, the quantity of choices you’re given to dispatch the horde reich goes a great way in direction of making up for it. In the trailer alone there’s electrical grenades, some stompy stomp stomps (for “satisfaction purposes”), and weaponised propellers. The entire factor appears brutally cathartic, and I’m actually into it.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War is ready to smash by your window carrying the face of your mate Dave and make you go ‘Dave?!’ which your mate Trev will reply to by saying “it’s not Dave, Steve, not anymore.” – all of that, it’s set to do all of that early subsequent 12 months. Also your title is Dave now.
[Disclosure: RPS’ Nate Crowley provided character and narrative design work for Zombie Army 4 prior to joining RPS.]
