Leak: Samsung to Fully Cease Tizen OS Support on Watches by End of 2025
Samsung stopped releasing smartwatches with Tizen OS starting with the Galaxy Watch 4 in 2021. Since then, Galaxy Watches have only been released with Wear OS.
The first restrictions will be implemented starting today: for example, new apps and watch faces for Tizen will no longer appear in the Galaxy Store.
As of September 30, 2024, it will no longer be possible to make purchases for Tizen watches in the Galaxy Store. Starting May 31, 2025, even free content will be unavailable for download. This will mark the final phase of support termination. Previously downloaded apps and watch faces will remain accessible on the watches.
