All smartphones now, sold in the USA, must be compatible with hearing aids
According to the new rules set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), all mobile phones in the USA must be compatible with hearing aids via Bluetooth.
Mobile devices must also adhere to new volume control standards, allowing for higher volume amplification without sound distortion.
The commission has not yet specified exact compliance timelines. The rules will come into effect following a “transition period.”
It is possible that similar decisions will be made in other countries in the future.
