Estrella TV’s Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento wrapped up a successful 24th season on Wednesday (May 26), revealing the first-ever tie on the show. It was also the first time in the show’s history that the contestants were all women.
Houston-based newcomer Ashley Acosta and Viririana Sandoval of Tallahassee were crowned the big winners of the night, splitting the first place $100,000 grand prize. The winners were agreed on by the judges, Ana Barbara, Chiquis, Pepe Garza, Carolina Ross, and ultimately announced by host Luis Coronel.
“Congratulations to all the girls in the competition,” Coronel expressed on Instagram. “Truthfully, they all deserve the best and always win in life. Not only did a woman win, but two! Now Ashley, along with Viririana occupies two places in the Regional Mexican genre and supporting women was the intention. Congratulations to the winners, I’m sure they are happy with what the future holds.”
The two-hour season finale included performances by Los Dos Carnales, Carin Leon, La Adictiva, Carolina Ross, Chiquis, and Ana Barbara.
Over 3,500 contestants auditioned for Tengo Talento’s first-ever all-female edition, and over 200 participants made the show’s on-air qualifying rounds.
