Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff & St . Vincent Get Co-Writer Credits on Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Deja Vu’

Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff and St. Vincent have been given co-writer credits on Olivia Rodrigo‘s song “Deja Vu” after the “Drivers License” singer spoke about how influential Tay’s “Cruel Summer” was on the song.

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Billboard on Friday (July 9) that the song from Rodrigo’s debut album, Sour, has added the “Summer” trio to the metadata on Spotify and TIDAL alongside the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series singer and the track’s producer, Daniel Nigro.

Rodrigo and Swift have engaged in a mutual admiration society for much of the year, with Rodrigo telling Rolling Stone that the bridge of “Cruel Summer” — which she covered for MTV’s Alone Together Jam Session last April, and Swift reshared on her Instagram Story — inspired the bridge of her Hot 100 top 10 hit “Deja Vu.” In January, self-proclaimed “biggest Swiftie in the whole world” Rodrigo told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that she “just about died” when she saw that Swift co-signed “License” by commenting, “I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud.”

They also sis’d down at this year’s Brit Awards in May, with Rodrigo doing the totally normal thing and making a very silly face in a backstage photo the 18 year-old shared on Instagram. The Sour song “I Step Forward, 3 Steps Back” interpolates Swift’s 2017 track “New Year’s Day,” which earlier resulted in Taylor and Antonoff getting their first writing credit on Rodrigo’s album.
