Tay Keith crowns Billboard‘s Rap Producers chart (dated Aug. 14) for the first time, thanks to a pair of credits on the latest Hot Rap Songs chart.
DJ Khaled’s “Every Chance I Get,” featuring Lil Baby and Lil Durk and which Tay Keith co-produced with Khaled, ranks at No. 3, a new high, with 23 million radio audience impressions, 11.5 million U.S. streams, 1,000 downloads sold, according to MRC Data. It also places at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Tay Keith’s coronation on Rap Producers is additionally aided by Smiley’s “Over the Top,” featuring Drake, at No. 21 after debuting at No. 15 a week earlier. Tay Keith produced the track solo.
Tay Keith has been a consistent face on Billboard‘s charts since his first entry as a producer in 2018, BlocBoy JB’s “Look Alive,” featuring Drake (No. 5 peak on the Hot 100). He’s tallied 23 Hot 100 entries, including one No. 1 among a trio of top 10s: Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” in December 2018. On Hot Rap Songs, he’s logged eight top 10s as a producer, also starting with “Look Alive.”
On the Rap Songwriters chart, Lil Baby rebounds for an 11th week at No. 1, powered by three songwriting credits: “Every Chance I Get,” at No. 3 (co-written with DJ Khaled, Lil Durk and Tay Keith); Drake’s “Wants and Needs,” featuring Lil Baby, at No. 12 (co-written with Drake, Cardo on the Beat, Dez Washington and 40); and Lil Baby, Lil Durk and Travis Scott’s “Hats Off,” at No. 23 (co-written with Lil Durk, Scott, Chi Chi and YoungTN).
Dating to the chart’s June 2019, launch only DaBaby (25 weeks) and Roddy Ricch (15) have spent more time at No. 1 on Rap Songwriters than Lil Baby.
The weekly Rap Songwriters and Rap Producers charts are based on total points accrued by a songwriter and producer, respectively, for each attributed song that appears on the Hot Rap Songs chart. As with Billboard‘s yearly recaps, multiple writers or producers split points for each song equally (and the dividing of points will lead to occasional ties on rankings).
