An extraordinarily uncommon Sufjan Stevens tune is lastly seeing the sunshine of day. Back in 2007, Sufjan wrote “Lonely Man of Winter” for the winner of his “Xmas Song Xchange Contest.” As the only recipient of the tune, winner Alec Duffy performed it for followers at exclusive listening parties world wide, and it has been unavailable publicly ever since—till now, that’s.

Tomorrow, November 9, Sufjan will digitally launch the unique recording of “Lonely Man of Winter,” together with a model new model (produced by Doveman and that includes Melissa Mary Ahern) and a canopy of Duffy’s contest-winning tune “Every Day Is Christmas.” The single will likely be out there on vinyl December 7 by way of Asthmatic Kitty. All proceeds go to JACK, the Brooklyn non-profit venue for which Duffy serves as founder and inventive director.
