Streets of Rage four appears nice and sounds acquainted in new gameplay trailer

After an all-too-short reveal trailer final 12 months, Dotemu has supplied a barely extra substantial take a look at Streets of Rage 4 gameplay. Though it’s nonetheless solely a teasing style, it does give us a greater concept of what to anticipate from the brand new gameplay options and refreshed artwork type – and it provides us the tiniest trace towards some acquainted music.

The game’s artwork route is being dealt with by Lizardcube, which beforehand dealt with the Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake – and the artwork and animation outcomes listed below are equally attractive. It’s a far cry from the wonderful pixel artwork of the originals, however the type right here appears to successfully modernise that look and current one thing new.

Its brawling appears acquainted, however it appears there are some new choices to be discovered. The trailer places plenty of emphasis on juggles, as Axel and Blaze knock foes into the air and toss them forwards and backwards for cooperative juggle combos. The fights are coming courtesy of Guard Crush Games, which put out the weird however wonderful Streets of Fury just a few years in the past.

A few new silhouettes have appeared within the artwork on the finish of the trailer, too, which suggests we’d get a few extra playable characters. One character’s large and muscular with a robotic arm, whereas the opposite appears to be geared up with a guitar.
