Arguably one of the standout games from the June 3, 2022 State of Play, Street Fighter 6 showed off its graphics, new game modes, revamped gameplay, and ambitions through two big videos. The opportunity to take advantage of elaborate graphics, a neat artistic direction, probably less cartoonish than before, but with a style that is still just as marked. The caligraphic effects around the characters have been supported for more colorful effects according to the attacks and the key moments of the game. However, for the moment, only 4 fighters have been confirmed on the roster, namely Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke and Jamie. We see Li-Fen, Chun-Li’s protege in a cutscene but nothing proved to us that she would be playable. It was without counting on the indiscretions of certain insiders who began to share the images of the characters who will be at the launch of the game. There will be 22 of them, a correct number of course, but low compared to the competition (39 at KOF XV eh ).
Still, we will see familiar faces, others who are new, but one thing is certain, Capcom wanted to pay tribute to Street Fighter II, with the 8 basic fighters of the latter who appear in their new outfit. Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, Zangief, Dhalsim, Blanka, Honda, and Guile, knowing they’re lined up like the good old days, it’s obvious the tribute is definitely there. Dee-Jay is also back with a new cut, as is Cammy who seems to have cut her famous blonde pigtails. Akuma/Gouki still looks so mystical, while Juri and Rashid, inherited from Street 5, also sport a new look. Each of them is displayed with their nationality and their respective flag, which shows that everyone is more or less represented.
Street Fighter 6 is expected to release in 2023 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, and Xbox One.
