Spelunky 2 has been delayed into subsequent 12 months

Mossmouth doesn’t assume Spelunky 2 will likely be surfacing this 12 months

Derek Yu’s deliberate second expedition wants a bit bit extra prep time. The proposed 2019 release date now looks like a no-go.

“Unfortunately, I don’t think we’re going to get to release Spelunky 2 this year,” Yu defined on his Twitter. “Development is still going well and we’re not far off target, but the density and detail of the game is demanding more time.”

Yu continued to elucidate why Mossmouth has been fairly tight-lipped on Spelunky 2 as of late. The staff’s all fairly busy, frankly, and so they’ll spill the beans as quickly as time permits. He did observe one little change, nevertheless.

“I took in the feedback about the environments from the trailer, and while I still love the overall style, we’ve been adding more detail, as well as increasing the contrast to make existing details pop.”

Spelunky 2 appears to be like to be more of that spelunkin’ good stuff you already know from the 2012 authentic. Mister Spelunky, his child daughter and extra are diving again into treasure-laden caves.

Deadly new liquid physics, multi-dimensional caverns, and different updates are set to make this expedition extra harmful – and profitable – than ever.

Spelunky 2 is (seemingly) coming to Steam and PS4 someday subsequent 12 months.
