Development of the revived project is well underway, giving players the opportunity to experience its evolving mechanics and world firsthand.
In December, the team behind “A.I.M.3: War Protocol” (also known as Mechanoids: War Protocol) kicked off a fresh round of playtesting. Early feedback has already led to a new performance patch aimed at refining the gameplay experience:
Key improvements include more responsive glider handling, a fix for the unintended slow-motion effect occurring at low frame rates, and rebalanced regeneration for organic gliders.
Other notable changes include:
- Integrated a Motion Blur toggle (On/Off)
- Fixed a bug where energy weapons would bypass shields (kinetic projectiles still penetrate but suffer damage reduction)
- Added an FPS cap setting for better performance stability
- Introduced localized ambient music tracks in two specific map areas
- Optimized AI logic to eliminate known “stalling” behaviors
- Resolved various stability issues and crashes in documented scenarios
You can sign up for the “A.I.M.3: War Protocol” playtest on its official Steam page here.
