The Space Invaders franchise has stood the test of time, captivating audiences for decades.
In late December, Japanese publisher Hamster celebrated the monumental 500th release in its “Arcade Archives” series by revisiting a true industry pioneer. The original 1978 Space Invaders has officially arrived on PlayStation consoles.
This digital restoration offers players a choice between the classic monochrome display and the later color version, with developers meticulously preserving the original soundscape to ensure maximum authenticity.
Players must once again take command of the iconic laser cannon to repel relentless waves of extraterrestrial invaders as they march steadily toward the bottom of the screen.
Arcade Archives: Space Invaders is now available for both PS4 and PS5.
