The RKN can block any websites and services without a court decision — reports the media
The RKN has prepared an order that will allow it to “slow down” any online resources privately through an extrajudicial decision by the Prosecutor General’s Office. The RKN has previously done this using technical measures to counter threats (TSU) installed on operator networks. However, now the agency might obtain legal justifications for this.
According to experts, the RKN may not need to report any “slowdowns” at all, as the Prosecutor General’s Office may not need to provide details about its decision to block a resource, nor even present itself as the initiator.
