The creator of Knives Out, Rian Johnson, announced he’s working on a new project that combines thriller elements with a touch of science fiction.
“What excites me most right now is an idea I came up with for my next film… you just have to follow your instincts. If I had to pin it to a genre, I’d say it nods to the paranoid thrillers of the 1970s. It will also carry a subtle sci‑fi element,” Johnson told Empire.
He declined to provide additional details. Johnson has previously worked in science fiction on Looper and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The third Knives Out instalment, Wake Up, Dead Man, is set to premiere on Netflix on December 12.
