Released in 2017, Resident Evil 7 was not only a great critical success as well as a revival for the saga: it is also and officially a very good commercial success. Capcom has just, in a document, updated the sales of its biggest games including the famous survival-horror … and imagine that it now peaks at 9.1 million takers. It is a lot, certainly, and moreover followed by loan by the excellent remake of Resident Evil 2 and its eight million sales.
As for Resident Evil 3, the famous redesign released in 2020 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, the figures are below but still show some success with 3.9 million units sold. Remember that it’s only been a year since the game was released and that generally, Resident Evil are known to be titles that sell a lot … and over time.
In passing, we also learn that Monster Hunter World now peaks at 17.1 million in sales. It is still Capcom’s number 1 and that is not about to change.
And since we are talking about Resident Evil, don’t forget that you can find our test of the eighth episode, Village, same here.
