Porting Total War: Warhammer mods to the sequel “needs to be” easy

Total War: Warhammer has constructed up a group of shiny and delightful mods, and it sounds prefer it received’t be a lot work for his or her creators to port them over into the forthcoming Total War: Warhammer II.

Here’s everything we know about Total War: Warhammer 2 up to now.

The information comes through GameWatcher, who spoke with lead author Andy Hall and recreation designer Mark Sinclair at E3 final week. Asked what modders can count on within the sequel, this was Sinclair’s response:

“The way it will work is that the mods that were created for the first Total War: Warhammer will be only for Warhammer. They are two different and separate games, so you can’t necessarily just use a Warhammer mod in Warhammer II. That said, theoretically, we’ve made it possible to transfer a mod from Warhammer to Warhammer II. There will have to be some work on the part of the modder to make sure it’s compatible, but ideally it should be relatively straightforward.”

That’s welcome information, because the game’s modding community have give you some beautiful stuff.

We spoke with Hall and Sinclair ourselves, and discovered that the Dark Elves will use slaves as their distinctive foreign money, and that many features of the original will be updated when the sequel launches – together with dragon breath, capital settlements, and a lot of different racial rebalances.

We’ll have a full write-up of that interview within the subsequent few days.
