We are delighted to present the latest update for your cities! Patch 1.2.5f1 is here, introducing an array of new parks as previously highlighted in the Anniversary Announcement on the 10th. Moreover, this update comes loaded with numerous fixes! Let’s delve into the details.
This update features several enhancements to improve the management of homelessness:
Homelessness statistic enhancements
- Integration of homelessness data within the Population Info View.
- Homeless households appear and can be selected in the parks’ Selected Info Panel.
- Optimized conditions for citizen relocation to mitigate homelessness.
These modifications facilitate tracking homelessness, locating affected populations within your urban area, and assessing individual situations of homeless citizens. If employment is not an issue among the homeless in your locality, they merely require affordable housing. Conversely, those who are jobless will need employment suitable for their educational qualifications to transition out of homelessness.
In addition, the logic governing young adults leaving their parental homes has improved. Previously, upon reaching adulthood, individuals would move out regardless of available housing, potentially resulting in homelessness.
Now, they will reside with their family until certain criteria are fulfilled:
- Newly matured citizens need employment before moving out.
- They contribute to the family’s finances until sufficient starting funds are available for them, enhancing their chances of leading autonomous lives.
- They assess the availability of housing within the city before moving out.
- If housing in the city is insufficient, they might relocate beyond city limits and commute. Commuters may likely return when housing becomes available.
Known challenges:
- Adjustments to crime accumulation may necessitate increased police presence and precise district assignments for efficient crime resolution.
- Tax revenues from industrial and office zones have decreased owing to a correction that accounts for wages from untaxed income. Ensure office zones have access to a well-educated workforce if they struggle to be profitable.
- Introduction of Easy and Normal modes.
- Commemorative parks for the 10th anniversary of Cities: Skylines:
- Chirplet Park
- Chirper Park
- Chirper Adventure Park
- Chirper Fun Time Complex
- Activity Playground
