Players and Press Slam Rennsport as Simulator Exits Early Access

Rennsport was promoted as a potential breakthrough for racing simulators, but now we can assess what remains of those claims after launch.

The title has exited early access and launched on consoles at the same time, yet the current build clearly requires substantial refinement.

PushSquare delivers a harsh critique of the PS5 edition. The outlet notes the single-player offering is almost empty — even though the game is primarily geared toward online competition. Most complaints focus on technical and visual shortcomings. On PS5 Rennsport suffers from persistent texture pop-in and an intrusive temporal anti-aliasing artifact. The audio presentation is considered weak as well.

Traxion writes that “Rennsport has a long road ahead.” The authors point out that the PC version also needs numerous fixes — for example, replays “regularly freeze the system.” In their view, the project in its current state isn’t ready to challenge Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo.

The situation on digital storefronts is also disappointing. On Steam the rating remains “Mixed” — 45%. On the PS Store PS5 owners rate it an average of 2.2 out of 5. Now it’s a matter of waiting to see whether Teyon can raise the game to the level fans expected.
