Paris Games Week: the 2021 edition unfortunately canceled, see you in 2022

It’s been official for a few minutes: Paris Games Week will unfortunately not take place in 2021. A decision that was taken by SELL and Comexposium, which are forced to cancel the event dedicated to video games for the second consecutive year. Admittedly, the measures have been relaxed for a few weeks, but for the organizers, it is still too early to organize a show in these sanitary conditions, especially since we know how Paris Games Week is a show that brings a lot of visitors. . A press release was sent to give some explanations about this painful decision, but in fine very well behaved :

Despite our desire and our commitment, we must make the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 edition of Paris Games Week. The uncertain context does not allow us to organize an edition that meets our ambitions and the expectations of the players.

It is this same spirit of responsibility and high standards that is leading the major players in video games to be forced to cancel their participation in a physical edition in 2021.

The passion for video games occupies an important place in the lives of French people. Both popular leisure and vector of social bond, video games have enabled many of us to stay connected to our loved ones despite the health context, but also to continue learning, discovering, having fun and to escape. The view on video games has changed and Paris Games Week will remain this great event which brings together all enthusiasts around the wealth of this sector.

We are already looking to the future and are working on the 2022 edition to celebrate our reunion and all together experience the most beautiful of editions.

Rendezvous is therefore priced in 2022 for its tenth anniversary, with an edition that will attempt to mark the occasion, but also to make up for these two years of scarcity. It is also recalled that the show welcomed 317,000 visitors in 2019 during the 5 days of festivity.
