Overwatch graphic novel cancelled. Blizzard will “take the story in a different direction”

It’s not all dangerous information although.

Blizzard’s lead author Michael Chu has confirmed that the Overwatch graphic novel First Strike is not going to be a factor.

In a publish over the weekend, Chu wrote, “we now have determined to cancel the discharge of the Overwatch: First Strike graphic novel. While we’re grateful to the staff for the unbelievable work they put into it, we’ve finally determined to take the story in a distinct path.

“The unique thought for the graphic novel dates again to the early days of the sport’s growth and got here from our need to inform the story of the founding of Overwatch throughout the Omnic Crisis. In the years since First Strike’s conception, we now have carried out plenty of growth on the universe and its tales. While the core of this story stays, we now have modified and expanded upon how we see the occasions that came about throughout the first days of Overwatch.”

Despite the evolution of the story because the recreation’s growth, followers can nonetheless count on to see the characters’ origins tales ultimately. “[We] know that this is a story that you are excited about, and it’s one we still plan to tell,” added Chu.

“We have a number of stories in development that will delve deeper into the world and its heroes, and we can’t wait to share them with you in the coming months.”
