It seems Olivia Rodrigo is a Twihard! While doing a fan Q&A session on Twitter Wednesday (May 26), the singer-songwriter showed that she’s a fan of Stephanie Meyer’s popular Twilight franchise when she took a question from one follower about her new album, Sour, and the supernatural saga.
The revelation came when one fan asked the “Good 4 U” singer: “what do you think will be edward and bella’s favorite songs from the album???”
Rodrigo’s response? “idk but Jacobs is def traitor.”
It makes sense. In the series, Bella (Kristen Stewart) repeatedly chooses hunky vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) over the at-first dorky, then very buff werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner) despite all that the shapeshifter does for her.
The soft and aching “Traitor” — the second track on Sour — is perfect Twilight material, and at points could easily reflect how Jacob felt. “You betrayed me/ And I know that you’ll never feel sorry/ For the way I hurt, yeah/ You talked to her when we were together/ Loved you at your worst, but that didn’t matter/ It took you two weeks to go off and date her/ Guess you didn’t cheat, but you’re still a traitor,” goes the chorus. It’s easy to imagine Jacob playing this on repeat, especially in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, when he brought Bella back from the brink after Edward breaks up with her — only to have her literally go running back to the immortal.
Rodrigo also answered other fun fan questions, including gushing “THIS IS THE CUTEST THING IVE EVER SEEN” after one follower shared photos of their adorable kitty recreating the Sour cover art. She also revealed advice she’d give her younger self (“All her heartbreak would turn into something rlly beautiful”), her favorite part of and inspiration for “Good 4 U” and its video, the song she’s most excited to perform, and more.
