Nintendo has confirmed that Switch 2 will be compatible with games from the first Switch
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa stated that the company’s upcoming console will be backward compatible with the original Switch.
Subscribers of the Switch Online service will also be able to use its features on the new device. There are no plans to introduce a new subscription.
It was previously reported that the company plans to announce Switch 2 by March 31, 2025, but it could happen sooner.
