Nicolle Galyon rises to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Songwriters chart (dated June 26), leading for the first time thanks to a trio of songwriting credits on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Dierks Bentley‘s “Gone,” which Galyon co-wrote with Ben Johnson and Niko Moon, leads at No. 3, after reaching No. 2 peak two weeks earlier.

Galyon has earned 26 entries on the Hot Country Songs chart as a writer or co-writer in her career, starting with Josh Kelley’s “Gone Like That” in 2011. Seven have reached the top 10, with two hitting No. 1: Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert’s “We Were Us” in 2013 and Dan + Shay’s “Tequila” in 2019.
Galyon is also the fourth woman to top Country Songwriters, dating to the chart’s launch in June 2019. She joins Laura Jeanne Veltz (five weeks at No. 1 in 2020), Taylor Swift (seven, in 2020-21) and Gabby Barrett (one, 2021).
Over on the latest Country Producers chart, Jay Joyce tallies an 11th week at No. 1, thanks to his production credits on Miranda Lambert’s “Settling Down” (No. 6; returns to its peak) and Lainey Wilson’s “Things a Man Oughta Know” (No. 16; a new peak).
The weekly Country Songwriters and Country Producers charts are based on total points accrued by a songwriter and producer, respectively, for each attributed song that appears on the Hot Country Songs chart. As with Billboard‘s yearly recaps, multiple writers or producers split points for each song equally (and the dividing of points will lead to occasional ties on rankings).
