Hashino, the legendary mind behind Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, has consistently praised the global evolution of the genre. “It is genuinely heartening to see Japanese-style RPGs being crafted and embraced outside of traditional Japanese studios,” Hashino noted, highlighting the “diverse creative perspectives” now enriching the market.

“While our worlds and artistic directions differ, I believe players will recognize a shared spirit in how we interpret the RPG genre,” he added. “I hope this bundle encourages fans to explore the impressive breadth of modern role-playing games.”

Echoing this sentiment, Expedition 33 director Guillaume Broche praised Metaphor: ReFantazio as a masterclass in world-building. “It is a deeply inspiring game for us, set in a masterfully realized world. It navigates complex themes with grace, particularly the vital role of imagination in our lives.”

Broche specifically highlighted the game’s mechanics and antagonistic depth. “The turn-based combat is among the finest I’ve ever played, and the Archetype system offers incredible flexibility. Beyond that, the game features one of the most charismatic villains in recent memory.”

For Broche, the collaboration is a personal milestone. He revealed he has been an avid Atlus fan since the release of Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer’s Call (also known as Nocturne), making this partnership a “genuine honor.”
