Kennedy “Love Story” Receives Positive Reviews from Critics

Early reviews have surfaced for Love Story, the latest anthology series from FX and Hulu, created by American Horror Story visionary Ryan Murphy.

At the time of this report, the series boasts an 89% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 68/100 score on Metacritic. Critics have singled out the lead performances and the meticulous, nostalgic recreation of 1990s America as major strengths, noting a genuine emotional resonance with the protagonists.

The show chronicles the ill-fated romance between John F. Kennedy Jr. (Paul Anthony Kelly) and Calvin Klein publicist Carolyn Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon). Their high-profile relationship quickly became a primary target for the era’s relentless paparazzi. The project’s ensemble also features Naomi Watts, Grace Gummer, and Alessandro Nivola.

The first three episodes of Love Story are scheduled to debut online tonight. The anthology’s inaugural season will consist of nine episodes.

This positive reception marks a turnaround from Murphy’s recent critical streak, which has been largely polarized or negative: Grotesquerie struggled to maintain a 70% rating, the third season of Monsters plummeted to 41%, and the legal drama All’s Fair, starring Kim Kardashian, was widely panned as one of the year’s worst offerings with a dismal 6% score.
