Marvel's Midnight Suns: Firaxis Tactical RPG Finally Shows Its Gameplay, It Won't Be XCOM

Announced at gamescom 2021, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is the association between three big companies: Marvel, 2K Games and the Firaxis studio, the creators of the Civilization series. If we knew that the title was going to go on a tactical RPG, we could only see a cinematic trailer to immerse us in the atmosphere. Many thought it would be an XCOM in the Marvel Universe, except that’s not quite it. First element to note is that we will be able to create our own character and that is a great first in the lore of Marvel. In the story, it is he, the Hunter, who will lead the Midnight Suns, a group made up of heroes from the Avengers, X-Men, the Fugitives, and others … We will have to choose between three super -heroes (no more) with skills represented by cards, knowing that it will be possible to use environments during combat to gain the advantage.

Between each mission, the Hunter and his teammates will enter the Abbey, a “safe” area which acts as a refuge in which it is possible to move freely in third person view. This is an opportunity to collect new information, strengthen relationships between superheroes, learn new things about the story, launch cutscenes too, improve skills and many other activities. . Marvel’s Midnight Suns is due out March 2022 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
