League of Legends, Valorant, and all of Riot’s other games are part of the new Sentinels of Light event

For the first time ever, Riot Games is hosting an in-game event that will impact all of its released games at the same time. The event is called Sentinels of Light, and on Thursday the developer revealed what’s coming to each game.

The star of this event is Akshan, the Rogue Sentinel. Not only is he League of Legends’ newest champion, he’s also coming to League of Legends: Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactics over the course of the event.

League of Legends is also getting an in-client story experience that casts players as a rookie Sentinel attempting to stop the Ruination that’s encroaching on Runeterra. The event will also add 11 new in-canon skins to the game, as well as the Ascended Pantheon Prestige Edition skin. The event will also include a new limited-time game mode, called Ultimate Spellbook, which will give players a second Ultimate ability to use, as well as their champion’s usual one.

Wild Rift will also get its own unique in-game story. In Wild Rift, players will join forces with champions like Lucian, Senna, Riven, Irelia, Vayne, and Akshan to help ward off the Ruination. Wild Rift will also get a special comic and AR experience to explore areas of Runeterra. All of this will also come with a variety of in-game content including the exclusive Battle Academia Akshan skin.

Legends of Runeterra will introduce its second Champion Expansion, which will include Viego, Akshan, and 21 other new cards. The event will also include the Declare Your Allegiance Event Pass, where players can choose to fight for the Sentinels or the Ruined King.

Finally, Teamfight Tactics will introduce its midseason patch, called Reckoning: Dawn of Heroes. The new patch will replace Shadow Items with Radiant Items, as well as add new Champions, Origins, and Classes to the game.

But the Sentinels of Light event doesn’t just stop with the League universe. Riot is also releasing two Valorant skin bundles as well. The first is Ruination, which is live now, and the second is Sentinels, which will go live later this month.

Sentinels of Light will have different schedules for each of Riot’s games, which you can find here, but the overall event will run from July 8 until Aug. 10.
