Netflix continues to broaden the ensemble for its upcoming live-action adaptation of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
According to reports from Deadline, British actress Laura Marcus has secured a series regular role in the highly anticipated project based on Ubisoft’s iconic gaming series. Marcus, recognized for her performance in “Death by Lightning,” is also set to feature in the forthcoming Hunger Games prequel, “Sunrise on the Reaping.”
The Assassin’s Creed series is envisioned as a high-octane thriller centered on the eternal struggle between two clandestine organizations. One faction seeks to dictate the course of humanity through systemic control, while the other champions the preservation of individual liberty. While the narrative will unfold against a backdrop of pivotal historical milestones, the plot will introduce a fresh cast of characters never before seen in the video games.
Principal photography is scheduled to commence in 2026, with Italy serving as the primary production hub. Although the specific historical era remains officially under wraps, industry insiders have previously speculated that the storyline may be set within the grandeur of Ancient Rome.
