Studio Mintrocket has officially announced that Dave the Diver is slated for a mobile release in 2026. The rollout will initiate in China before expanding to other international regions. Publishing duties for the handheld version will be spearheaded by XD Entertainment, a company that already maintains a strategic partnership with Mintrocket in local markets.
This smartphone iteration is intended to be much more than a basic port. The developers are completely overhauling the user interface and control schemes to suit touchscreens, while also integrating mechanics specifically designed for mobile hardware. These enhancements include the utilization of gyroscopic sensors for tasks like pouring drinks in the restaurant.
Dave the Diver originally debuted in the summer of 2023 on PC, eventually making its way to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. The title has achieved immense critical and commercial success on Steam, boasting over 126,000 reviews with a stellar 96% positive rating.
Simultaneously, the team is hard at work on a substantial expansion titled “In the Jungle,” which is expected to offer roughly ten hours of fresh content. Set in the tropical village of Utara, the DLC will allow Dave to explore lush lakes, hunt exotic predators like piranhas and crocodiles, and manage the Bancho Grill. This expansion is also scheduled for a 2026 launch, though a specific date has yet to be finalized.
