Original Halo trilogy to be completely remade — insider

Halo Studios is reportedly working on full-scale remakes of the legendary original trilogy: Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3. These claims come from industry insider Rebs Gaming, citing information from a former studio developer and various public teasers.

Speculation first intensified in October 2025 following the announcement of “Halo Campaign Evolved.” New reports suggest the project is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and is a complete ground-up remake rather than a standard remaster. Instead of simply porting The Master Chief Collection to PlayStation, the studio is allegedly aiming for a series overhaul designed to drive long-term revenue.

These remakes will focus specifically on the campaign experiences, while a separate project is rumored to be handling a multiplayer component featuring large-scale battles. While the core narrative beats of the originals will remain intact, the remakes are not expected to be frame-for-frame recreations of the source material.

While Halo Studios has yet to make an official announcement, Executive Producer Damon Conn hinted at this direction in a recent interview, stating:

“We have a major opportunity to expand our community. Our goal is to bring as many players as possible into the Halo fold, and that growth is a priority for us. It also clears the path for future narratives and upcoming titles in the Halo franchise.”
