Korn have been forced to move around some of the dates on their summer tour after singer Jonathan Davis tested positive for COVID-19. “We really appreciate your patience as we work out the next steps for our tour,” the band wrote in an Instagram post featuring the new dates.
“On Saturday, we received the unfortunate news that Jonathan tested positive for Covid, and needless to say, we had to postpone the show last minute. As a result of his positive test, we also need to reschedule the next handful of shows. As always, our primary goal is to ensure the safety of everyone involved, so this is something that has to be done.”
The good news is that they reported that Davis “spirits are high” and that he’s currently resting and recovering. As a result, six dates were rescheduled for September and October and a pair had to be cancelled outright: an August 24 show at Darien Lake Amphitheater in Darien, New York and another gig the next night at the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater in Syracuse, New York.
“We’re as disappointed as you are about the circumstances, but we’ll get through it though, and we can’t wait to see you once we’re back, firing on all cylinders once again,” they wrote. The news comes after Korn canceled their show in Scranton, Pennsylvania on Saturday after what was described as a COVID case “within the Korn camp.”
If Davis is recovered in time the band is slated to be back on the road on August 27 at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois.
