Hello, Creators.
Kjun here.
Today, I’d like to share how we’re implementing your invaluable feedback into the game and update you on the rescheduling of the update initially slated for May.
Your feedback is our guiding light.
We thoroughly review the insights and bug reports you provide through platforms like Discord, Steam, and customer support on a daily basis. We delve into not only the content but also the context of the feedback, evaluating how many players share similar experiences.
While we may not implement every suggestion right away, we prioritize them by their frequency and impact. For bugs, we assess whether they are beyond player resolution or if they significantly disrupt immersion. We’ll continue refining our prioritization process and enhance our communication on how your feedback shapes the game.
We sincerely apologize to those anticipating the May update.
The update, initially planned for the end of May and including the modding system, has been delayed to mid-June. We identified areas needing enhancement and chose to focus on quality over speed. Despite the shift, we’re committed to delivering content that truly satisfies.
There have been misconceptions regarding the ModKit since our initial details were shared. Through comprehensive internal deliberation and your feedback, we realized we needed to clarify its structure.
The ModKit is crafted to assist you in creating mods. It simplifies content creation and encourages more flexible sharing.
InZOI integrates with CurseForge, and we’ve expanded support to allow creators to share mods in two ways:
1. Upload mods to CurseForge and install via the in-game Mod Browser.
2. Save mods locally and move them to the Documents\inZOI\Mods folder for manual use.
This system fosters creative freedom and self-expression, beyond mere mod sharing.
We believe inZOI is enriched by each creator’s creativity. Our aim is to foster an open and supportive environment for everyone to animate their worlds.
The June update will include these modding features:
◽️ A tool to edit or replace graphics for specified outfits and furniture
◽️ Developer-accessible JSON files for customizing game settings and logic
◽️ Sample projects demonstrating how to create clothing, hairstyles, furniture, and interactions
For novices, we’re introducing the CAZ Wizard tool specifically for outfit modding, to ease beginners into modding.
While data-based modding is available for all outfits beyond the sets, we are preparing a separate tutorial due to its complexity. We intend to broaden support so creators of all expertise can join in.
Some features, including scripting, won’t be available at the initial ModKit launch due to ongoing development.
We ask for your patience as we strive to deliver a comprehensive ModKit soon.
Alongside modding, we are enhancing how Zois express emotions and reveal personality traits in the June update.
While working on emotional stability in the April update, certain unintended effects emerged. Currently, some Zois appear frozen or fail to display emotions through expressions or actions — this will be resolved in June.
Feedback suggested Zois occasionally lack distinct behaviors. We’re introducing emotion-based dialogues and reactions so that even identical actions differ based on emotional states.
For instance, a despondent Zoi might ‘cry in the bathroom.’ Certain interactions may be more probable based on mood, and even eating may vary with emotions or needs.
This is just the start. We aspire for Zois to develop unique personalities over time and respond more authentically based on their emotional states.
We’re committed to evolving this system over the long term.
We eagerly anticipate the worlds you’ll create with inZOI. We support and celebrate your imagination. To everyone awaiting the May update — thank you, and we’ll be back with the June update soon.
Thank you.
