“Collaborating with PlayStation Studios has empowered us to broaden our horizons while preserving the heart and soul of what made the original title so unique,” Josh Grier added, highlighting the studio’s growth.
Having thoroughly enjoyed the 2021 original, I’m thrilled to see Ember Lab revisit this world, especially since a sequel wasn’t always a certainty. My personal excitement, however, stems from the prospect of another concise adventure. The first Kena was a tight 10-hour experience; while the studio promises something larger, one can only hope it maintains that lean, focused design philosophy.
In an era of bloated runtimes, even a game twice as long as its predecessor remains a welcome breath of fresh air. After sinking nearly 200 hours into Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, I find myself increasingly drawn to titles that deliver high-impact, memorable journeys without overstaying their welcome. There is a profound art to distilling a grand experience into a manageable, high-quality package.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora is slated for a 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and PC.
