Hello everyone,
Today, we’re rolling out a minor console-exclusive hotfix that addresses certain stability and performance challenges when utilizing mods on consoles.
Unlike PCs, consoles can only handle a limited number of files simultaneously. The more mods you install, the quicker you will hit this restriction. To enhance stability, we suggest only installing the mods you know you’ll use frequently. We’re also implementing a cap of 100 mods for console platforms.
Console users won’t be able to load saves with more than 100 mods activated. If you’re using cross-saves to play on both PC and console and have exceeded 100 mods for a save, you might need to reduce the number of active mods via your PC to continue using that cross-save on your console.
We plan to release another update shortly to help console users access saves that become inoperative due to today’s update. However, be mindful that mods can lead to general instability, particularly on consoles, and disabling them on your PC might lead to complications.
If you have over 100 mods installed on your console, they will be automatically removed. You’ll need to re-download any mods you wish to use, start a new save, or switch to a previous save with fewer than 100 mods to keep playing on your console.
As we strive towards integrating cross-play in Baldur’s Gate 3, bear this restriction in mind when gaming with console users! More details on that will follow.
