Hey everyone,
Today, a minor hotfix exclusive to consoles will be deployed to address several stability and performance concerns related to mods on these platforms.
Unlike PCs, consoles can manage only a limited number of files simultaneously. The installation of numerous mods can quickly reach this limit. To ensure optimal stability, we recommend installing only the mods you are certain you’ll use. To assist with this, we are setting a cap of 100 mods for console platforms.
Players on consoles will be unable to load saves that have already activated 100 mods. For those utilizing cross-saves between PC and console with saves exceeding this mod count, you might adjust the active mod numbers on your PC to retain access to your console cross-save.
We will soon release another update to provide console players access to saves disabled by today’s changes. However, it’s crucial to acknowledge that mods can induce general instability, particularly on consoles. As such, removing certain mods on your PC might introduce issues when attempting to access the save.
If you have over 100 mods installed on your console, they will be automatically removed. To continue playing, you’ll need to redownload the desired mods, start a new save, or revert to an earlier save with fewer than 100 mods.
As we work towards enabling cross-play for Baldur’s Gate 3, keep this limit in mind when playing with console users. More details will follow.
