1.2.5f1 Anniversary Update

Greetings, Esteemed Mayors!

A brand-new Patch awaits you! Patch 1.2.5f1 is now live, featuring an array of delightful new parks previously highlighted in our Anniversary Announcement on the 10th. In addition to these, numerous fixes have been incorporated! Let’s delve into the details!

This update brings several enhancements aimed at improving quality-of-life in relation to homelessness:

Homelessness Metrics

  • Inclusion of homelessness data in the Population Info View
  • Visibility and selection of homeless households in parks’ Selected Info Panel
  • Enhanced decision-making process for citizens moving out, aiming to curtail homelessness

These updates facilitate tracking of homelessness, locating homeless communities in your city, and assessing the circumstances of individual homeless citizens. If your city’s homeless are generally employed, they just need access to affordable housing. If they are unemployed, they will require appropriate job opportunities in line with their education to transition out of homelessness.

Moreover, we have enhanced the logic concerning newly adult citizens moving out of their parental homes. Previously, they would promptly relocate upon reaching adulthood, and in the absence of affordable housing, would end up homeless.

Now, certain conditions must be met before they move out:

  • Newly adult citizens must secure employment before leaving home.
  • They contribute financially to their household’s wealth until it can provide them with seed money, enabling them a better start in independent life.
  • They ascertain the availability of homes within the city prior to moving out.
    • If insufficient homes are available, they might opt to relocate outside the city and become commuters. Such commuters may return to settle in the city once housing becomes accessible.

Known Challenges:

  • Adjustments to crime accumulation might necessitate increased policing efforts in current cities and the assignment of police to specific districts for optimal crime management.
