MAPPA Confirms Chainsaw Man Anime Season 2

The upcoming season is set to adapt the high-stakes “International Assassins Arc.”

Studio MAPPA has officially greenlit the production of the second season for the *Chainsaw Man* anime. The announcement was unveiled at the Jump Festa ’26 event, where fans were treated to the first teaser trailer and a striking key visual for the continuation.

Season 2 will focus on the “International Assassins” narrative, a storyline where elite hitmen and mercenaries from around the globe descend upon Japan with a single objective: claiming the heart of the protagonist, Denji.

This arc serves as the direct successor to the “Reze Arc.” As a result, the second season will resume the story following the events of the feature film *Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc*, which covers manga chapters 38 through 52. The “International Assassins Arc” spans chapters 53 to 71.

At this stage, the announcement serves as formal confirmation of production. While a continuation was largely expected given the series’ popularity, MAPPA has now clarified that this project will be a standard television season rather than another cinematic release. The premiere date and further technical details remain under wraps for now.
