In October, the developers of GTA Online launched a community challenge with the goal of eliminating 80 million zombies in the ‘Ludendorff Cemetery Survival’. Players managed this in just three days, so the challenge was intensified to 800 million dead zombies. This was also overcome without any issues, resulting in the players receiving additional rewards.
For the heist challenge month, the “rock stars” decided to set the initial bar high — in four weeks, by December 5th, players need to steal 20 trillion GTA$ in the finales of the eight main heists (5 classic, ‘Doomsday’, casino, and Cayo Perico). It seemed like players started off with enthusiasm: seven days of robbing El Rubio resulted in 5.4 trillion — a quarter. After repeated attempts to save the world, the pace slowed down to 9.1 trillion, although it should have already been ten since half of the event was over. Late last night, the official game website showed that players surpassed the 10 trillion mark. The exact number right now is 11.2 trillion.
The community is already worried that the goal may not be reached on time. In such a case, we will not receive the promised rewards: the Pacific Standard bomber jacket, the N.O.O.S.E. special forces outfit, and the Police Predator boat, which will likely go on sale with the release of the new update, most likely on the 10th of next month.
Is it a big loss? Of course, it would be disappointing not to acquire unique clothing and service transport, but it’s clearly not the last chance. The bomber jacket was already given away two years ago for robbing that very bank, and the boat will be purchasable. For a considerable sum of several million, naturally, but still obtainable. The only question is: what will happen with the special forces uniform? Since it’s being added to the game, the developers won’t simply remove it, and it will become available sooner or later. They’ll surely come up with a new reason for it. But why not get everything at once? To do that, we all need to contribute to the common cause by organizing several classic heists by Thursday. Plus, the casino vault will soon be stocked with diamonds, and maybe, just maybe, the ‘Rockstar’ team will help us by making a 3x multiplier on money in the casino heist.
