GTA Online: more single player content coming soon, Rockstar Games speaks out

A few weeks ago, it was December 15, 2020, Rockstar Games rolled out the biggest update in GTA Online history, through the heist of Cayo Perico. Not only could we have fun with a new heist (always in great demand), but as a bonus, we discovered a brand new map, an island in real life, that of Cayo Perico. On this occasion, we were able to interview some of the developers of Rockstar Games in French exclusivity, which explained the manufacturing process of this new card. We also learned that the robbery could be playable solo, a first for the multi of GTA V which had not been entitled to its solo extension as it was originally planned, according to strong rumors. About that, interviewed by GQ magazineScott Butchard (who serves as senior development director at Rockstar Games) clarified that GTA Online will be welcoming more solo content in the months and years to come.

Solo is something we’ve been interested in for some time and the community has let it be known. We really want to continue doing this in the future. We also want to respect the teams and players who want to continue playing in cooperation. But at the same time, we also want to allow solo players to have such an interesting experience. There are benefits for both.

If you play it solo then you will get 100% of the reward and it is easier to play it stealthily and strategize if you are not the communicative type. With other players, it is possible to split up and do several things at the same time. You can do more secondary objectives, like asking someone to go to the control tower to eliminate air defenses, while you collect cash.

It remains to be seen whether the next updates will systematically offer missions playable both in solo and in co-op ‘, or if it will be very specific content. We imagine that starting from this premise, Rockstar Games will continue to feed the content of GTA Online, knowing that in addition, a next gen ‘version, on PS5 and Xbox Series X, will also arrive in 2021, which will relaunch once more machine. In terms of longevity and consistency, we have rarely done better, it must be admitted.
