GreedFall: The Dying World Set for Full Launch This March
The journey toward the full release of GreedFall: The Dying World is nearly complete. After honing its mechanics in Steam Early Access since late 2024, developer Spiders has officially announced that the highly anticipated prequel will celebrate its version 1.0 launch on March 12.
Taking place three years before the events of the original 2019 title, The Dying World shifts the perspective to a native of Teer Fradee. As a guardian of the island’s ancient secrets and natural balance, the protagonist is thrust into a nightmare when colonists from the continent of Gacane—a land decimated by the relentless Malichor plague—arrive to abduct them. Taken across the sea to be used as a test subject, players must orchestrate a daring escape, navigate the treacherous politics of the old world, and uncover a conspiracy that poses an existential threat to their homeland.
True to the series’ roots, this action RPG emphasizes player agency. Narrative outcomes are shaped by dialogue choices, allowing for diplomatic resolutions or the forging of complex alliances. To aid in your quest, you will assemble a diverse party of companions, each with their own motivations and backstories.
When words fail, the game’s tactical combat system takes center stage. Players can engage in fluid, real-time skirmishes or utilize a tactical pause feature to issue specific commands to their squad, ensuring every move is calculated and every ability is used to its full potential.
GreedFall: The Dying World will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. For those looking to dive deeper into what to expect, you can revisit the initial announcement details and prepare for the voyage back to Teer Fradee this spring.
