Get ready to experience GTA: San Andreas in virtual reality

Prior to this announcement, only one Rockstar Games game had been brought into VR – LA Noire in 2017. Three years later, the port authors announced that they were working on a new VR project for R *. We were sure that in the end such a mode will be available in the new version of GTA 5, which will be released in the spring of 2022 (our assumption was based on the fact that the “five” has a first-person view, which means that part of the job has already been done) … But it turned out that this is another popular game in the series – GTA: San Andreas (although this does not negate the fact that a VR mode may appear in the fifth part).

This was announced at the Connect event by Mark Zuckerberg himself, the founder of Facebook, which owns the manufacturer of virtual reality helmets Oculus. The information has already been duplicated on the official website. It is reported that GTA: SA in VR will be available on Quest 2 helmets. Development has been going on for several years and is not yet complete, so there is no specific release date.

It is worth noting that we are probably talking about a remaster version of the game, and not about the classic original. This is not the first time that GTA: Trilogy – Definitive Edition games will be distributed separately, but such cases are so far isolated. Reprints will be sold only as part of a collection.
