GameSpot presented their rating of GTA games

Online edition GameSpot has presented a ranking of the GTA series. Their ranking and rating may differ from your selection of the best parts of Grand Theft Auto. In the rating comments, you can share your thoughts on how fair the ranking of the games in the series is, and try to compile your rating.

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto is one of the most famous and controversial franchises in the gaming industry. She is known for excessive violence, political satire and pop culture. Over the years, GTA has grown and evolved from a top view (2D) to one of the largest and most robust gaming experiences the gaming industry has to offer. Below we have ranked from worst to best GTA. Let’s take a look at it.

10. Grand Theft Auto 1

The Game that Started the Grand Theft Auto Series

The game that started it all. Grand Theft Auto was developed by the studio DMA Design (later became Rockstar Games) and released in 1998 on the PC. The gameplay was closely related to the constant hijacking of vehicles and attempts to escape police pursuit. The perspective of the game was a top-down view, and the series will move away from that view in future installments. Although the critics did not like this game, but the main ideas – being a criminal you could move in any direction and do anything – was warmly received by the fans of the game. By the way, this part is good, sold on different platforms.

9. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

Faithful dog Toni Cipriani will settle all the problems of Don Salvatore

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories appeared in 2005 – and it was the prequel to Grand Theft Auto III. The original version was released for the PSP and it was the first 3D part of the series for handheld consoles. The plot unfolds about the work of the gangster Toni Cipriani for the mafia, run by Don Leon Salvatore. The game continued the tradition of non-linear, open-ended gameplay – and of course the main thrust of the game was to shoot first and ask questions later. Overall, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories was a technical marvel in that it was able to incorporate a rich gaming experience into a handheld console.

By the way, if for some reason you missed this action movie, then can download and play GTA: LCS on PC… By the way, in the latest leak from Nvidia it became known that, possibly, the official release of this part of GTA on PC is being prepared

8. Grand Theft Auto IV

What do Niko, Johnny and Luis have in common? That's right - diamonds!

The long-awaited game since the release of GTA: San Andreas, Grand theft auto 4, released in 2008, became one of the most beloved games on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The four showed a more realistic presentation of the city of Liberty City, which was modeled on New York. The size and scale of the game world was amazing and gave players even more freedom to explore the city. The story followed the troubles that immigrant Niko Bellic faced in his new life in America. At GameSpot, we gave this game a 10 out of 10 and recognized it as the best game of 2008. In addition to GTA 4’s compelling campaign, the foundation was laid for GTA Online with its own multiplayer mode, allowing players to collaborate in multiplayer. Over the years, this has paid dividends in GTA Online. GTA 4 also introduced its cover mechanic, which Rockstar used in Red Dead Redemption and GTA 5. What’s more, the four pushed the GTA series forward with new systems that allowed players to make choices and their decisions influenced the plot.

And who could forget about the constant phone calls of Roman Bellic, offering to go bowling? GTA 4 is also dearly loved thanks to the add-ons The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony

7. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Huang's thorny path in GTA: Chinatown Wars

In 2009 comes out Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Warswhich Rockstar released for the Nintendo DS and later on the PSP. It was the first game designed specifically for handheld consoles since the release of GTA: Vice City Stories. In the Nintendo DS version, GTA: CW used two screens, one for playing and one for mini-games. This mechanic has never been used in the Grand Theft Auto series before. The game takes the player to Liberty City, where we play as Huang Li, a member of the Triad gang. The game also breaks the tradition of village shading (hand-drawn graphics) and brings back the good old top-down perspective that was in the early GTA games. Here at GameSpot we loved GTA: Chinatown Wars and praised it because it didn’t feel like a massive, portable version of GTA, but it felt meaningful and worthy to offer players new features.

6. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

Vice City Stories is arguably the best prequel to the GTA series

Prequel GTA: Vice City, released in 2006 under the title GTA: Vice City Stories for PSP, and later on PlayStation 2. The game takes place in 1984 (two years before the events in Vice City). The main character is Victor “Vic” Vance (Lance Vance’s older brother), who is trying to build his criminal empire in Vice City. Vice City Stories has definitely improved some elements of Vice City – in particular, it has more personality, and as many critics have said – players have been offered more entertainment options.

5. Grand Theft Auto 2

The first gangs in GTA and mind blowing fun

Released in 1999 GTA 2 after the first part of 1997, she again threw the players into a fictional city, where their goal was to create chaos and cause maximum damage. Players also enjoyed the top-down perspective as the original. Rockstar has focused more on storytelling in the modern world. Unlike GTA 1, the second part has improved visuals, such as cars and other things. Also, the developers have worked on the camera system. In addition, a multiplayer mode for 6 people was added to the game, and special maps were developed for it. GTA 2 was the last 2D game in the series. Two years later, our beloved series will discover a three-dimensional world.

4. Grand Theft Auto III

GTA III is the icon that revolutionized the gaming industry

Grand theft auto iiireleased in 2001 was a major change in the series being developed by DMA Design at the time. GTA III was first transferred to a three-dimensional world. It was a revolution in the gaming industry. The game takes place in a fictional version of New York, which was called Liberty City in the game. GTA 3 has been noted for pushing the series into an exciting new direction, with a more ambitious open world and non-linear gameplay. The game massively influenced and propelled the gaming industry towards open sandboxing, which has since become ubiquitous in many games. GTA 3 had a great soundtrack, including a comedy radio station called Chatterbox, and, for the first time, drew Hollywood stars for voice acting.

The release of Grand Theft Auto III was delayed by Rockstar for several weeks due to the September 11 terrorist attacks. During this time, several changes were made, such as changing the air paths of aircraft so that they did not crash into buildings. Darkel’s missions were also removed – he was a terrorist.

3. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

From rags to riches Miami. Tommy as an example of a real gangster

Released just one year after the release of GTA III, GTA: Vice City 2002 brought players back to 1986. The action took place in Miami (Vice City), and the story of Tommy Vercetti was a mixture of the movie Scarface and the TV series Miami Police: Department of Morals. Rockstar Games has improved the open world and non-linear structure of Vice City over GTA III, expanding the features and systems that were previously in the series, introducing new abilities, items and mechanics. At the time, we said that GTA: Vice City was one of the “most stylish and most enjoyable games ever released.” This part has remained so over the years, so many wonder when Rockstar will return Miami in a new Gta 6

2. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

The longest storyline and a lot of entertainment for every taste

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas released in 2004 and is highly ranked in our rankings because it was a groundbreaking open world game released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The game takes place in a huge world based on Los Angeles and other areas. The game invites you to become Carl “CJ” Johnson. GTA: San Andreas lost loading screens between districts, allowed players to swim, introduced elements of an RPG system (you had to eat and work in the gym to keep yourself in shape), explore a magnificent world filled with all kinds of activities. The characters and dialogue were well choreographed, as was the excellent voice acting. Not everyone loved San Andreas, although many may remember the sensational modification “Hot Coffee”, which brought back sex with Carl’s girlfriends into the game.

1. Grand Theft Auto V (GTA Online)

Rockstar has been milking GTA 5 for eight years now ...

GTA 5 ranks first because it is the pinnacle of the series – design, plot, and technical perspective. Released in 2013, the game has stood the test of time and remains extremely popular today, thanks in part to its multiplayer GTA Online. The game’s storytelling takes a unique approach to the series, featuring three playable protagonists. Michael, Trevor, and Franklin all have their own backgrounds, unique perspectives and playability, all of which keep the gaming experience fresh. And the plot is connected to each other in such a way that you feel satisfaction at the end of the game. GTA 5 throws players into an expansive world, teeming with life and deeds, places to explore and meet people.

Mode GTA Online is a treasure for itself, offering a virtual playground with all kinds of quests and activities from participating in robberies, races, gunfights, and countless other tasks. The phenomenon, which is GTA 5, is set to continue in March 2022 on PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X | S, where players can expect better visuals and an improved experience overall. When released on new platforms, it will be the third generation of consoles on which the game was released, which is very unusual, but not surprising given that the game remains top-selling every month and has sold 150 million copies to date.
