Bloober Team Unveils Layers of Fear 3

Bloober Team Reveals Layers of Fear 3

To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the psychological horror masterpiece that launched their legacy, Bloober Team has officially unveiled the next chapter in their flagship series: Layers of Fear 3. This surprise announcement serves as the centerpiece of a decade-long celebration for the franchise that redefined atmospheric dread.

The reveal was accompanied by a haunting live-action teaser, featuring a narrator reciting William Blake’s classic poem, The Sick Rose. While the trailer provides a glimpse into the game’s unsettling tone, the developers are keeping specific gameplay mechanics, launch windows, and target platforms under wraps for now. For the time being, the unveiling of the official logo is the primary clue for fans eager to return to the studio’s macabre world.

In a formal statement, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno reflected on the series’ enduring impact. “Layers of Fear is a project born from our deepest passions and remains a cornerstone of our narrative history,” Babieno remarked. “For ten years, we have honed our craft through this franchise, using it to define our studio’s identity and our approach to psychological horror. Though a decade has passed, we are far from finished. This new revelation is intended to ignite fresh excitement among our most dedicated fans.”

The anniversary festivities extend beyond the new game announcement. Bloober Team is offering substantial discounts across the franchise, with the original title currently available at a 90% reduction. The 2023 reimagining will see a 60% price cut starting this Friday, with an even steeper 70% discount for existing owners of the 2016 original via a special bundle. Furthermore, the studio is expanding the universe into literature; a series of novels is currently in production, with the debut installment by Marta Bijan slated for release late this year. Enthusiasts can also look forward to both digital and physical soundtrack releases for Layers of Fear, The Medium, and the recently launched Cronos: The New Dawn.

Beyond this new sequel, Bloober Team remains hard at work on the highly anticipated remake of the original Silent Hill. It remains to be seen which of these high-profile projects will reach players first. Until then, horror aficionados can revisit our original Layers of Fear review or dive into our appraisal of their latest survival horror effort, Cronos: The New Dawn.
