One Piece: Grand Gourmet Restaurant Sim Launches on Mobile and PC
The creators of Game Dev Story developed the new game in the franchise.
Bandai Namco has released ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet on iOS, Android, and PC. Kairosoft, the studio known for Game Dev Story and other pixel-art business management games, developed the One Piece restaurant simulator.
Players join the second floating restaurant, the Baratie, and help the Straw Hat crew grow the business. They search for ingredients, unlock recipes, cook dishes from One Piece, and experiment with unusual food combinations. More than 400 characters from the franchise will visit, and players can both serve them and hire them as staff. The game also offers over 200 pieces of furniture and decorations for customizing the restaurant.
The game launched on Steam with “Mixed” reviews. Buyers praise the pixel-art graphics, the variety of dishes, and the number of familiar characters. They criticize the confusing interface, the awkward furniture placement, and dialogue lines that disappear too quickly. The developers have already addressed some of the complaints with update 1.0.7 for Steam. It adds an option to turn off automatic scrolling for some text and fixes the display order of certain graphic elements.
