Game Informer is Closing Down
Tonight, it was reported at a meeting that the Vice President of GameStop (a video game retail chain) announced the immediate shutdown of Game Informer magazine, which had been publishing monthly issues about the gaming industry for 33 years — since August 1991. The entire staff has been laid off, and the website has been closed. You can read the final statement there and on social media. The next issue, 367th, will be the last.
In addition to being one of the most read magazines in its field, Game Informer’s team wrote hundreds of pages of exclusive content dedicated to Rockstar games and, of course, featured them on their covers.
- Introduction to GTA 4.
- Extensive pre-release material on GTA 5.
- GTA Online preview.
- GTA 3 retrospective with Aaron Garbut.
