Former Deerhunter Bassist Josh Fauver Is Dead

Josh Fauver, greatest referred to as Deerhunter’s longtime bassist, has died. The information was confirmed by Deerhunter’s consultant. “Very difficult times now,” they wrote within the caption of the under Instagram picture of Fauver with the band. Fauver was additionally a member of the Atlanta bands Electrosleep International and S.I.D.S. He ran a label known as Army of Bad Luck.

Fauver joined Deerhunter in 2004 after the band’s authentic bassist Justin Bosworth died following a skateboarding accident. Fauver performed on their debut self-titled album (2004), Cryptograms (2007), the Fluorescent Grey EP (2007), Weird Era and Microcastle (2008), Rainwater Cassette Exchange EP (2009), and Halcyon Digest (2010).

In a 2013 interview, Cox told Pitchfork that Fauver left the band through e mail in 2012 simply previous to the recording of Monomania. “There was never a fight, nothing acrimonious,” Cox stated. Army of Bad Luck remained lively within the years following Fauver’s departure from Deerhunter, releasing new data by a number of Atlanta-based bands.
