Finneas rebounds to the top of Billboard‘s Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers charts (dated Aug. 14) thanks to the arrival of Billie Eilish‘s new LP Happier Than Ever. Eilish concurrently returns to No. 1, in a tie with Finneas, on Hot 100 Songwriters.
Happier Than Ever soars in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 238,000 equivalent album units earned, according to MRC Data, while nine of its tracks land on the latest Billboard Hot 100, led by the title track at No. 11. It’s joined by “NDA” (No. 59), “Getting Older” (No. 69), “Billie Bossa Nova” (No. 70), “Oxytocin” (No. 72), “I Didn’t Change My Number” (No. 80), “Lost Cause” (No. 84), “Halley’s Comet” (No. 90) and “My Future” (No. 91).
The siblings are credited as co-writers on all nine Hot 100 entries. Finneas leads Hot 100 Songwriters for a 12th week (after most recently reigning in June) and Eilish reigns for a fifth week (and for the first time since November 2019). Since the chart began in June 2019, only Olivia Rodrigo has spent more time (19 weeks) atop the tally.
Finneas is the sole credited producer on all nine tracks, sparking his eighth week atop Hot 100 Producers (and for the first time since January 2020). He boasts the fifth-most weeks on top, after Dan Nigro (20), Louis Bell (17), Joey Moi (13) and 30Roc (nine).
The weekly Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers charts are based on total points accrued by a songwriter and producer, respectively, for each attributed song that appears on the Hot 100; plus, genre-based songwriter and producer charts follow the same methodology based on corresponding “Hot”-named genre charts. As with Billboard’s yearly recaps, multiple writers or producers split points for each song equally (and the dividing of points will lead to occasional ties on rankings).
