Fake Trailer for RDR 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Released
The next-gen version of GTA 5 was released almost two and a half years ago, but developers still haven’t re-released the younger RDR 2 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Fans’ hopes for the western game revived last fall when a leak from Microsoft mentioned an updated version of Red Dead Redemption 2. It was supposedly set to come out in 2022 and could have immediately been included in the Xbox Game Pass subscription. However, there has been no news about this project since then. It’s clear that Rockstar Games is currently fully focused on GTA 6. But is it possible that such a large company couldn’t allocate a small team to modernize this popular game, which would likely help boost its sales?
A week ago, the topic resurfaced—a video presented as a trailer for the next-gen version appeared online. The debates didn’t last long. The original post on reddit.com has apparently been deleted, but the community concluded that the video was a fake. The editing seemed decent at first, but a closer look at the frame where the text “Coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in March 2025” overlays the R* logo revealed a glaring sloppiness on the part of the editors.
