PAX Unplugged, the upstart tabletop gaming convention, is being held this year Dec. 10-12 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Polygon has the exclusive reveal that the full schedule goes live on Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 a.m. PDT, plus details on a few panels you won’t want to miss.
Unlike this year’s Gen Con gaming convention in Indianapolis, everyone who attends PAX Unplugged will be required to show proof of vaccination. A PAX spokesperson tells Polygon that includes “staff, Enforcers, and exhibitors.”
“This builds upon the success of PAX West by going a step further,” said the spokesperson in an email, “as a recent negative test will no longer satisfy the requirement — only a complete vaccination series will meet the mandate.” They added that face coverings will also be required. You can find more details at the official website.
Highlights of this year’s convention include:
- A special presentation by Keith Baker, creator of Dungeons & Dragons’ popular Eberron setting. His panel on Dec. 10 at 11:30 a.m. EST will include a look back on his work, plus details on some “current and future projects.”
- Baker will also be part of Sharing the Sandbox: Creating in Established RPG Settings on Dec. 10 at 4:30 p.m. EST. He’ll join Rebecca Gray, Stephen Myers, Jarrod Taylor, Jessica Marcrum, and LaTia Jacquise to talk about creating content for the Dungeon Master’s Guild.
- Shut Up & Sit Down’s first live podcast in two years. Join Tom Brewster, Ava Foxtrot, Matt Lees, and Quintin Smith on Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. EST — and again on Dec. 12 — to join in on the fun.
- Finally, don’t miss the season finale of Rivals of Waterdeep, which will be recording the conclusion of its 11th season at PAX Unplugged. Dungeon Masters Brian Gray and Eugenio Vargas will put Tanya DePass, Latia Jacquise, Masood Haque, and Shareef Jackson to the test.
