The upcoming cinematic adaptation of the acclaimed video game Sleeping Dogs will be helmed by Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, the visionary behind The Shadow Strays and the upcoming Nobody 2. The news was shared by lead actor Simu Liu, who is set to portray the film’s protagonist.
While the director and star are confirmed, the screenwriter for the project has yet to be announced.
Originally released in 2012, Sleeping Dogs is set in the bustling underworld of Hong Kong. The narrative follows Wei Shen, an undercover police officer tasked with infiltrating and dismantling one of the city’s most dangerous Triad organizations.
